Like Overshot, Summer and Winter has three elements: warp threads, tabby threads, and pattern threads. But, unlike overshot, S&W has no long floats. This makes it a good structure for a large number of products. We will look at the structure and weaving of S&W.

About the event
Like Overshot, Summer and Winter has three elements: warp threads, tabby threads, and pattern threads. But, unlike overshot, S&W has no long floats. This makes it a good structure for a large number of products. We will look at the structure and weaving of S&W. We will explore some of the “as-ifs” (other treadlings that change the look of S&W), talk about yarns you can use and projects that you can weave. We will look at the design possibilities of both four and eight shaft S&W and ways that you can simplify the weaving process.
