- Sat, Jun 28Salt Lake Weaving StudioDid you know that your weaving can contain a secret message? When you use the name drafting technique as you design, you can imbed dates, names, and even short sayings in your weaving. What mysterious message would you like to weave? Taught by Deanna
- Multiple DatesMon, Jul 07Salt Lake Weaving StudioThe structure of Color and Weave is plain weave, but it looks like anything but plain. Using two colors, one dark and one light, the interaction of the colors can look like little mazes, or log cabin quilt blocks.
- Multiple DatesSat, Jul 12Salt Lake Weaving StudioThis project is so much fun that you will want to weave more until you run out of yarn. Start by weaving big, fat chenille out of stash yarn (ours or yours). Then weave a second time using the long, furry chenille worms as weft for a wonderfully cushy rug that your toes will love.
- Multiple DatesThu, Jul 31Salt Lake Weaving StudioThe Beginning Rigid Heddle Class is meant for those who have never woven on a Rigid Heddle Loom, or who feel the need to brush up on the basics. In the first class we will warp the loom and begin to weave some basic structures. In the next two classes we will re-warp the loom and weave a scarf.
- Multiple DatesSat, Aug 02Salt Lake Weaving StudioThis class is where it all starts. After this class you will be able to weave your own projects and also will be able to continue to learn in intermediate classes.
- Sat, Aug 16Salt Lake Weaving StudioInkle weaving is the simplest of band weaving; it’s just plain weave with a very close sett. Come and spend the afternoon warping an inkle loom and weaving a band. At the end you can turn your band into a wrist band for a key ring.
- Sat, May 24Salt Lake Weaving StudioLearn how to warp your space-dyed yarn so that the colors take on an Ikat-like appearance. Deanna has an almost magical way to wind the warp, matching up colors so that the final product has pooled colors across the width. This beginner+ class is taught by Deanna.
