In the first class we will warp the loom and begin to weave some basic structures. In the next two classes we will re-warp the loom and weave a scarf using your yarn.

Multiple DatesWed, May 20Salt Lake Weaving StudioThis class will explore lace-like weaving structures and how to weave them. Starting from how to get open areas, we will go on to structures like Huck, Swedish Lace and Bronson lace. We will explore these structures and how to design with them.
Sat, Apr 04South Salt LakePin Looms are the ultimate traveling looms. Slip one in your bag and weave anywhere. We will be weaving a square (or 2) that you can use as a coaster. No need to register, just drop in and spend the afternoon with other makers like you.
Sat, Mar 28Salt Lake Weaving StudioThe Gradient Dyeing Class is meant for beginning as well as experienced dyers. Each student will pick two colors to dye with and will dye 16 half ounce skeins with those colors. The final result is 16 distinct, but related colors. The yarn to dye and the dyes are included in the cost of the class.

Multiple DatesWed, Mar 25Salt Lake Weaving StudioAn intermediate class. Students should be able to warp a rigid heddle loom and weave simple plain weave. The class focuses on manipulated warp techniques, including: leno, clasped weft, Brooks Bouquet, and Danish Medallions. You will also learn finishing techniques: hemstitching, and twisted fringe.
Sat, Mar 14South Salt LakeDrop in to weave a tiny rag rug for your favorite mug. We will have little cardboard looms and strips of colorful fabric. So fun!

By weaving a twill gamp, the weaver has a physical reference guide that shows how different threadings interact with various treadlings. This class is intense, designed to get you back to your loom, designing your own twill patterns.
