    The structure of Color and Weave is plain weave, but it looks like anything but plain. Using two colors, one dark and one light, the interaction of the colors can look like little mazes, or log cabin quilt blocks.

    This project is so much fun that you will want to weave more until you run out of yarn. Start by weaving big, fat chenille out of stash yarn (ours or yours). Then weave a second time using the long, furry chenille worms as weft for a wonderfully cushy rug that your toes will love.

    The Beginning Rigid Heddle Class is meant for those who have never woven on a Rigid Heddle Loom, or who feel the need to brush up on the basics. In the first class we will warp the loom and begin to weave some basic structures. In the next two classes we will re-warp the loom and weave a scarf.

    Inkle weaving is the simplest of band weaving; it’s just plain weave with a very close sett. Come and spend the afternoon warping an inkle loom and weaving a band. At the end you can turn your band into a wrist band for a key ring.

    Overshot is a traditional weave structure that became popular in New England, the Hudson River Valley, and Appalachia in the 1800s. Learn how to weave with two shuttles, what “tromp as writ” means, how to “square up” a pattern, and how to develop your own pattern. Taught by Deanna
